Call for Papers

The 5th Cyber Awareness and Research Symposium (CARS) will be held on October 28-30, 2025, at the University of North Dakota. CARS is jointly hosted by UND’s Center for Cyber Security Research (C2SR), UIT, IEEE Region 4, and IEEE Red River Valley Section. This hybrid international symposium covers AI-driven cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, autonomous systems security, and emerging digital threats.

Tracks: 

We invite original research papers, surveys, case studies, and position papers in the following areas, but not limited to: 

• AI and ML in Cyber Security

• Critical Infrastructure & Aviation Security

• Digital Deception and Human-Centric Security

• Network, IoT & Cloud Security

• Autonomous Systems and Cyber-Physical Security

• Cybersecurity Awareness, Policy, and Ethics

Submission Categories: 

• Full Research Papers (6–8 pages) : Original research contributions with theoretical or experimental results.

• Short Papers (3–5 pages): Work-in-progress, preliminary results, or case studies.

• Industry Track Papers (2–3 pages): Opinion papers, industry challenges, and applied cybersecurity solutions.

• Ph.D. Dissertation Poster: Posters presenting innovative research by doctoral students.

In order for your paper to be published in the 2025 IEEE CARS Conference Proceedings and to qualify for inclusion in IEEE Xplore®, at least one of the authors of an accepted paper must complete registration for the conference at the FULL (member or non-member) rate.
